Bruno Tonioli has been confirmed as the new judge on Britain's Got Talent 2023, replacing David Walliams. The former Strictly Come Dancing judge will join Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell on the panel for the 16th series of the ITV talent show. Tonioli said he was "thrilled" to be joining BGT, adding that he had always been a "huge fan". "I'm so excited to see what talent the UK has to offer and to be part of the team that helps to find the next big star," he said. Dixon said she was "delighted" to welcome Tonioli to the BGT family. "He's a brilliant judge and I know he'll bring his unique style and expertise to the show," she said. Holden added: "Bruno is a legend in the entertainment industry and I can't wait to see what he brings to BGT." Cowell said Tonioli was a "great addition" to the BGT team. "He's a brilliant choreographer, dancer and performer and I know he'll be a great asset to the show," he said. Walliams announced his departure from BGT in September 2022 after 10 years on the show. He said he was "sad" to be leaving but that he was "ready for a new chapter in my life". Tonioli is a professional dancer and choreographer best known for his role as a judge on Strictly Come Dancing. He has also appeared as a judge on Dancing with the Stars in the US and has choreographed for numerous stage shows and films. The new series of Britain's Got Talent is expected to air in spring 2023.
